How important is your benefits these days?
There are some corporations- they know who they are- who do so low down, down right unethical practices. Their lawyers found loopholes that puts things in the corporations favor.
What I'm talking about is the cutting of employees work hours and giving the employee the option of using his/her vacation or personal accumulated hours and transferring them over to their working hours to be able to keep their medical benefits.
It works like this. Employee works minimum hours say (24) in a week to be eligible for Medical Benefits.
After working a period of time the working hours for this employee is cut to under the minimum hours to keep said medical benefits. This is not the fault of the employee. He/she is in danger of loosing his/her medical insurance.
He/she is given a choice. Loose medical benefits, take accumulated hours away from their vacation time or personal time and move it to their work hours to make up the difference of the minimum hours worked to keep medical benefits, OR choose to loose those benefits which when the accumulated vacation and personal hours run out the employee will loose their medical benefits anyway.
I call this unethical.
I called my state, Labor Relationhtps and Commission Board-Labor Standards
They told me that because benefits are not required for a business to give, what is being done is not illegal but unethical.
So much for Mr. Obama's mandatory Obamacare.
The person who told me about these practices was told to seek medicare when he/she couldn't keep paying him/herself to keep their medical insurance.
It is only my opinion but it seems that these corporations are trying to force their employees to quit their jobs from lack of hours and loss of benefits.
What do you think?
